Jessica and Callan’s Engagement

This weekend I had a self induced break from weddings, it was great to catch up on work and recharge my batteries for the next wedding.

One such catchup was the engagement shoot of Jessica and Callan from a few weeks back.  Jessica had the great idea to photograph their engagement shoot from Callan’s family farm, a fantastic idea.  I love the chance to photograph a couple at a place that means something to them.

The farm was a great location, I even had the whole family come along to check it out.

Jessica and Callan met while playing Inline Hockey, which I had to admit to not knowing what that was, it is hockey on roller-blades, you can read about the club here.  There first date was out at this farm, so it really was the perfect location for a shoot.

The farm had some old sheds which provided fantastic soft light for photography.  A great location with a beautiful couple – a photographers dream.

As well as some interesting machinery and sheds, the farm also provided on of my favourite photographic props, long grass.

Callan proposed to Jessica at sunset on top of Mount Jim Crow, what a location and setting, allowing Jessica to forgive him for dragging her all the way up this mountain.

For those interested in Rocky history, this Bulldozer was involved in knocking down the old Fitzroy bridge.  Thanks heaps to you guys, it was a great shoot, and I can’t wait to your wedding in a few weeks.
