Rosie and Kelvin’s Wedding

Last weekend, I photographed Rosie and Kelvins wedding at Saint David’s in Rockhampton. Rosie booked me last year while she and Kelvin were working/traveling in Western Australia, and now they are on a honeymoon in Africa – what a traveler, I am very jealous.

For this wedding I also had Rebecca from Rebecca O’Grady Photographics come along share ideas, it was a lot of fun and we learn’t heaps from each others different styles..

Rosie got ready at her place, awash with more family that I could keep track of.   I love the chaos of getting ready for a wedding, and I must say that Rosie was very relaxed in this chaos.  Here she is getting the bridal vale in place.

Like Rosie, the Bridesmaids were just stunning

And here is Kelvin and the boys, I actually staged this photo after the wedding when Kelvin was a lot more relaxed.

Rosie arrived in an old Yank Tank, isn’t the flower girl gorgeous

Bride arrival

I love it when the light works well in the bridal walk.  Rosie’s flowers were by Flowers Rock.

Giving the bride away

Rosie and Kelvin’s love and joy during the wedding service was just obvious to everybody.

I love capturing the all important smiles after a wedding

Wedding Hugs

After the family photos we headed off to Kershaw Gardens in Rockhampton for some wedding pictures.

A common favourite, the around the tree kiss

I love my backlit photos, it just makes everybody look beautiful

Wedding Photos Kershaw Gardens

Rosie had this great idea to visit the playground at Kershaw Gardens to get some more relaxed and fun photography.

Wedding Party at Kershaw Gardens

This is probably my favourite shot of the day, the light is just wonderful before the sun sets.  Every camera book tells you to not to shoot into the sun so as to avoid lens flare, but sometimes a bit of lens flare can really add to a photo.

As the sun was setting, we headed off to the Rockhampton City Centre for some grunge shots.  Another rule of wedding photography, when the wedding party walks, don’t stop photographing.

Here Rebecca captured this amazing photo of the wedding party as I was setting up the couple -  this shot is just fantastic.

Rebecca also found this interesting shop window, which we put to good use.  First the girls had a ago.

Then the boys showed them up (apart from not lining up with the frames)

Groomsmen

And finally some important wedding details.  As you can see, Rosie has a thing for Elephants and Pigs.  Rosie and Kelvins wedding cake (I love the pigs) was by Cakes of Distinction, their reception was at The Pavillion.

Wedding Details

Another cool wedding, thanks to Rosie and Kelvin for trying out some interesting ideas.
